How will a car act if the valve stem seals are bad?

If the valve stem seals are bad the intake valves will "suck" oil into the cylinders. One common indicator of worn valve stem seals is to take your foot off the accelerator for several seconds when going downhill, then watch for smoke when you step on the accelerator again. If you see a puff of BLUISH smoke, you probably have bad valve stem seals. The catalytic converter can become oil fouled so that would be another indicator that you might have valve stem seal problems.

You just replaced your head gasket on your 97 blazer and now you have oil in your carb is there anything else besides the PCV valve that would cause this?

did you check the condition of the valve stem seals while you had the head off? bad valve stem seals will allow oil to leak into inlet manifold . the head needs to be off to change valve stem seals

Why oil in engine cylinder?

Bad valve? Broken piston ring? It could be a broken valve, but you would have other signs if that were the problem. Most likely it is nothing more than valve stem seals being bad.

Why is there oil on your spark plugs?

bad valve seals, bad piston rings bad valve seals, bad piston rings

Why does blue smoke come out the exhaust pipe during take off and start up?

your burning oil, either the rings are bad or your valve stem seals are bad.

Is it anything you can get from a auto part store for a quick fix for valve guides to stop smoking?

If it smokes only on start up, and then quits smoking in a few minutes then the valve seals are bad, and they fit over the valve stem and down onto the top of the valve guide. They stop oil from running down the valve stem and burned in the cylinder. They do not sell anything in a can that will fix that problem. You need to buy valve seals and have them installed by a trained mechanic. And they come in a plastic bag not a can. SORRY NO quick fix.

What causes your 2002 Toyota Camry burns oil?

Bad valve seals will that. You can purchase oil treatment which allows partially restore failing gaskets. But if the engine is doing that for a while, you need to replace the seals.

What causes blue smoke to come out of the exhaust?

blue smoke is caused by oil burning in the igntion chamber. oil gets there thru bad oil rings on pistons,or bad valve stem seals in the head,

Why is there oil on your spark plug from an 83 Honda civic 1500DX?

Is it on the end of the spark plugs where the wires connect? If so, expect the little round seals at the valve cover are shrunken. These seals are usually included when purchasing a valve cover gasket kit. If the oil is on the end of the spark plugs that goes into the engine, expect bad valve stem seals or just possibly (but not likely) too much oil.
