No! The wood in pencils has bee treated with chemicals, and has fragments of graphite still on it, which could be toxic to your guinea pig (not to mention it will make them very dirty.)
Also the wood is too sharp and fragile to be good bedding. It can hurt their delicate feet and get in the eyes or throat.
Wood shavings are the common bedding used for guinea pigs, most of them can be used but sawdust, cedar, and wood chips are not good for them, They can chew on wood chips, which is bad for them and sawdust can be easily inhaled and cause problems for their lungs. Hope this helped! :)
Actually wood shavings are not good.
My guinea pig just died today because the company was to stupid to pay attention to a wood chunk that was in the shavings and it went into his rectum and he eventually died from it.
No, it is not okay. The litter can hurt them if they eat it and they will eat it. Use care fresh bedding and clean often. It is much better and safer. Never use cedar or wood chips.
If you changed it every day, but no. Just buy a piece of fleece, wash it a bunch and use that over newspapers or towels
THat works, but I'm sure it's safer to buy bedding from pet stores. If you must, use inkless paper, as your hamster may comsume it and get ill/
No. I tried it with my hamster and she got sick from eating it and it hurt her.
Yes it can, but it must be bought bagged from the shops. They use a specific shredded paper which is softer than normal printer paper.
you can use a wood-based cat litter for your chin.
hope i helped. :)
no u cant if i were you use newspaper that would be your best bet
No, that would make your hamster very dirty.
First off do not use newspaper. The ink on the paper can be toxic. Use used paper bags. The ones you get from the grocery store. Then you can use wood shavings for bedding.
If i were you i would get a big cage so the guinea pig can run around Good luck with your piggie I have a big cage that holds 2 guinea pigs and they chase each other around the whole cage!!!
in its cage i say. i have a hamster and i have to go to school, i feed him in the morning and i leave him in his cage, when i come back i put him into his exercise ball , and then i feed him again.
Depends on the Guinea Pig - also on the cage. I keep my guinea pigs in an open-bottomed cage.
you SHOULD NOT use cedar shavings for your guinea pig because they cedar shavings give off fumes the are toxic to guinea pigs and eventually suffacte them! you should apply BLACK AND WHITE newspaper on the bottom of the cage, and then your bedding on top of that.
yes,but it will affect the guinea pig (other shavings besides ceder are better for them)
dry solid cage with shavings, waterbottle, hay, and food with bole
Either leave it, it should come off in the sawdust or wood shavings, whatever is in your guinea-pig's cage, or, you can pick up the guinea-pig and flick it or pick it off.

Just get a big cage from a pet store that has little hiding places in it. Guinea pigs like to hide in small dark places. Rabbit cages would be okay to use too, but make sure you keep your guinea pig inside. Make sure that the bottom of the cage is smooth for the guinea pig. Wire at the bottom of the cage is too hard for it to walk on and painful. Also, get some shavings/bedding (little pieces of cut up wood or get it from a pet store) to line on the bottom of the cage that will make a comfy bed for your pet.

Wood shavings
A guinea pig actually is safer in it's cage, provided that you have a good cage for it. It's far more likely to be hurt or get lost if it's out of it's cage. Also, the guinea pig wants to make a home and/or nest and wants bedding material, such as wood shavings. You need to ask the pet store people what would be good bedding material for your guinea pig.Get your guinea pig out of it's cage to play with it or just to hold it, but it needs to be in it's cage the rest of the time.Answerve it running round, someone is likely to step on it that would be far worse than putting it in its cage AnswerI just got a Guinea Pig yesterday. :) He's so sweet. (anyway, enough with my blathering!) A Guinea Pig is safer in it's cage! Even more so if you have another pet such as a cat or dog. A Guinea Pig would prefer it's cage, too. If you leave him in his carry-home box too long, he might get too scared and stressed out and get sick. The sooner you put him in his cage, the sooner he'll feel comfortable and the sooner you two can begin bonding! :) A cage is way more safe in the long run anyway! Goodluck! -GuineaBoo

i would say a c&c cage is the best. look it up on google and i would get the largest cage possible
