No. Cold sores are from the herpes simplex virus and lemon juice won't help them. Yes, it will burn when you put it on the cold sores, but that is all. I have found that there are over the counter creams that work.

∙ 10y agoCold sores are caused by a virus, the "herpes" virus. Vinegar may sooth the sore but it will not cure it. When treating cold sores, use a proprietary antiviral cream such as "Zorvirax" when you first feel the tingle.
When you have a cold sore do not kiss people and do not share your coffee mug. The virus is very contagious.
