No; people have lost toes through accidents and continue to be able to walk, the English explorer Ranulph Fiennes (his full name is Ranulph Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes) lost two toes to frostbite during a walk to the South Pole and he recently completed seven marathons in seven days on seven continents!

There is also speculation that Man's little toe is getting smaller through the generations as it is essentially useless.

some say you need your toes for balance but, if you didn't have toes you could probably adapt without them.

The absence of the little toe on either foot will cause some adaptation before normal walking can resume. However, with proper therapy, walking will soon return to normal.

toes are used for balance and nothing more. if you were falling forward and you needed to stand upright then you would use your toes to straighten your self.

No, think of it as walking with your toes up but they're not really there.

Hope that helps!
