Can a cat get sick from smell of hamster urine and will a cat try to eat the hamsters poop it flings out the cage?
I very much doubt that a cat can get sick from the smell of urine, and cats are far too picky to eat faeces. It may, though, try to eat the hamster.
well, when your hamster is sick you should contact your exotic pet vet. Although this treatment may cost more then a cat or dog it is totally worth it because it could mean saving your little hammy's life.
you cant really keep your hamster from biting. once he keeps doing it its either a habit or you have a dirty hand or it is afraid of you.
That kind of behavior indicates stress or sickness.
You have to stick your hand in the cage and let your hamster get used to it. When he/she doesnt do anything scoop him/her out of the cage and if he/she bites you repeat.
A cat could eat a hamster if it felt like it. I strongly suggest keeping the hamster away from the cat and the cat away from the hamster:/

Or a cat if you don"t want to lose your pet. so it"s simple if you don"t like to clean get a hamster if you"re not neat and lose small things easily, get the cat. u can also hug and cuddle with a cat, but you can only hold a hamster in your hands:D
NEVER put the new hamster in the same cage, with same stuff! BOIL the toys, cage, in warm, soapy water for 30 minutes! If you don't you are most likely to have another sick/dead hamster :( The disease might remain in the same cage where the sick hamster may have touched, nibbled or made any contact with. Stay safe!
