Well, you provide a service to both your home state and country. Members of the National Guard are eligible for state and federal benefits. If you're new to an area, it's also a good way to help you find a job (speaking from personal experience here).
It can be depending on what job you are performing especially in war.
If that job title is needed, yes.
To a National Guard interveiw you should wear something formal, not jeans or a t-shirt. You should look like you have honor for that honorable job.
If it prevents you from doing your job, then possibly yes.

First, you would have to join the Rhode Island National Guard. After a few years, you can reach the rank of Sergeant (typically the enlisted rank of E4 or E5). When your first term is up, you then reenlist for an additional term and request a career change to "training" The National Guard will have several options. Select the one that comes closest to "Recruit Training"
