Cannot load ASPI layer driver?
What do you do when it says Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware The driver may be corrupted or missing?
first we should see that the driver for that specific hardware has been installed or not. if it has been installed then go to the device manager right click on the harware, go to properties then click on rollback driver. if that doesn't work then see if any CD came with your harware device. if there is a CD then insert it and get the driver from there. if there is no CD then try…
A DOS device driver is a file that any DOS system will load at startup. They perform many functions, such as memory management, hardware, RAM disks, etc. Most device drivers have a .SYS file extension, and are loaded through a file called CONFIG.SYS. In CONFIG.SYS, a line is added reading DEVICE=driver.SYS to have the driver load.
There are multiple reasons for that. One of the most common is BIOS is not configured properly, for instance, SATA is set to RAID. Other one is your chipset requires a driver during installation that Windows 7 does not have. You will have to load the driver on a stick and load it when installer stops with empty window where available hard drives should be. You will see option to install driver manually.
The Sage V11.x uses an old ODBC driver to access SAGE 50 export libraries. New verisons of Windows have a later driver (Vista, W7) so the Sage V11 cannot install its old driver and isn't smart enough to look for the new one. Regardless, Sage V11 still works, only the export to 50 doesnt, and if you need that you really should be getting the latest Sage version.
