Dead battery. or perhaps a dead spark plug or distributor cap. Most likely a dead battery though.
Type of car would help. Coil, condenser on older cars, pickup in the distributor, spark control, igniter on Toyota's, rotor, fuse under the hood or fusible link, computer, timing belt broke. Lots of options.

∙ 11y agoFirst thing to check is the battery connections -are they tight. If you grasp them and twist hard they should remain firm. -Second, does the battery have a good charge. It should read no lower than 11.8 volts at rest. Get a garage to check if you have no meter yourself. -If all of that is OK, then it's time to check the solenoid and starter.

∙ 13y agoTo properly answer this question we would need more details. there are various things that could be happening, you could have a bad plug wire, a bad spark plug, or even a bad rotor button, it all depends on what the problem is.

This is America and people sue over everything, unfortunately. Why not just turn in the car. YOu signed an agreement and reneged on that agreement so be a big person and turn it in. Then you dont have to look over your shoulder everyday. Yes, they can, turn it over to the prosecutors office, then you will owe even more money because they will sue you for the cost of the PI and for the cost of court fees and any extra charges they incur from tracking the car down. Take care of this now and you will be better off.
