Does Coke provide help for heartburn? For me, the jury is still out. I had severe heartburn for the last few nights. I found myself eating Tums and drinking Mylanta. I polished off the last of the Mylanta, with very temporary relief and ate about 10 Tums, with no resulting relief and was out of options. Keep in mind, this ocurred late at night. Suddenly I got a distinct craving for a Coke. Drinking a Coca-Cola seemed ludicrous to me, especially with all of the acids and carbonation that it has. Desperate, I drank the soda rather quickly then suddenly passed out. I was exhausted and fell asleep, so I'm not sure whether the Cola was the answer to my relief or not, but I do believe it's worth a try.
Coke and vinegar are both acidic, and so would make your acid reflux worse.
Coke contains things that aggravate acid reflux: carbonic acid (the fizz) and caffeine. You can drink it (it won't kill you) but maybe you shouldn't.
yup
No, the Rum itself reduces the carbonic acid somehow but I'm not sure why.I just know that I can't drink coke by itself without the rum or else I get acid reflux.
There are many ingredients in Diet Coke. Some of these include syrup and sugar. However, there is also acid in the drink. The drink has a PH of around 3.5.
