he got some help because when he went to Hispaniola and wattling land people there helped him and traded him stuff and got in return other good stuff. He had crew members and succeeded his journey until he died from a disease in 1506 but people still until now know that his journey was a big help! :):):)

∙ 12y agoIf you're asking how Columbus was successful in finding North America, he was successful by wanting to reach the east by going west. He didn't want to travel all the way to his destination, so he sailed in the water to the west. Then on his journey he discovered North America.
(He traveled west to reach the east because the world is round and he would reach the other side... etc.)
