There is no difference. Microsoft Visual Basic and Visual Basic are the same thing. Visual Basic is a language that was developed by Microsoft.

There is however a difference between Visual Basic and Visual Basic .NET (Now known as just Visual Basic and VB.Net). VB.Net is basically Visual Basic, the only difference is that VB.Net supports the Microsoft .NET Framework.

There is a similar language, called BASIC, from which Visual Basic was derived.
