Best Answer

The dodo could not fly, as it was quite a heavy bird for its size, and its wings were far too small to support it in flight. Flight was not a requirement for the dodo in its habitat.

The dodo became extinct during the 17th century. The last known specimen was believed to have died sometime between 1662 and 1690.

No, the dodo could not fly. It was a flightless bird.

The dodo was flightless because there was no need for it to fly. There were no natural predators in their habitat, until humans came along with dogs and rats, then wiped them out.

There has been much speculation as to why the dodo could not fly. It was quite a heavy bird for its size, around 20kg, and its wings were far too small and rudimentary to support it in flight.

Flight was not a requirement for the dodo in its habitat.
