How can i have fun with my mom?

Depends A LOT on the boy and the mom, of course, but here's stuff that my bro and I enjoy (he's 14):Amusement park (letting him bring a friend can either make it more or less fun, depending on how comfortable he is hanging out with his mom around friends)Volunteer together: habitat for humanity and the local animal shelter are two of our favesActive stuff: biking, hiking, camping, rock climbing, ice skating, skiing, roller-blading, SCUBA diving, etc.Sign up for an improv class if you have one nearby (it's fun and it's a great confidence boost for teens)Attempt to create a perfect sundae / sandwich / etc. together (we've created some MONSTERS along the way!)Video games (ask him to show you how to play) It seems not very wholesome, but some of the best talks I've have with Max since he's hit puberty happened during moments like thatAir-hockey, pool, foosballA road trip, especially good as a less boring way to let him practice his driving skills (My dad and I did this and it was great!)Sports are always great fun -- especially if you're willing to go and learn something new, off-beat together (water polo, an obscure martial art, etc.)Anything "extreme" is a big hit with Max. If you want isn't that dangerous, try hang gliding...Setting off fireworks (if it's legal in your state)Going to sports eventsOne of Max's friends' moms did this and I think it's a great idea. They signed up for hip-hop dance lessons. He liked getting the skills that he wanted to be more confident at school dances and he felt less silly about messing up because his mom was there messing up right along with him. Just don't do anything dorky like square dancing or the foxtrot...Good luck, have fun, and let me know how it goes
