I don't know how seizure medication affects periods but I do know that menstrual cycles of many women are irregular when first getting off of birth control.. some start spotting and/or bleeding for days on end while others do not get periods for months on end. I think it all depends on your system and how long you were on birth control prior to stopping.

some anti seizure medications can make the pill ineffective..... i would get a blood pregnancy test.

my mother has seizures and she was on the pill when she got pregnant with me

I just stopped birth control over a month ago and still haven't had my period. Have had no sex either, so I'm not pregnant.

No. It does not mix well with the medication and even if you are not on medication, it lowers the seizure threshold, making you more apt to having a seizure.

You cannot talk while your having a seizure because your brain cannot concentrate while having a seizure.

A petit mal seizure lasts 15-20 seconds. When it ends, the individual resumes whatever he or she was doing before the seizure began, will not remember the seizure, and may not realize that anything unusual happened.

If your friend is having a seizure, you will need to call for help. If the seizure is very bad, call 911.

User Avatar

To control anything during a seizure is not really possible, so you could not consciously do it. You could wear some protection in your mouth, but that isn't very practical and you don't know when a seizure will happen. It can also be dangerous having something in your mouth when you have a seizure as you could do other damage, like to your teeth. So there is not very much that can be done to stop yourself biting your tongue when you have a seizure.

Our dog was sleeping on the couch when he began having a seizure, he fell off the couch into a patio door and broke his neck during the seizure and died. You have to protect a pet having a seizure from hurting its self.

When you are actually having a seizure, you don't even know you are having one and you don't feel anything.

Well if "you" are having a grand mal seizure there isn't much "you" can do since "you" are having the seizure and will most likely require help from others. However if someone near you is having a seizure I would advise the web site linked below as a guide on what to do.

No. A panic attack is caused by an emotional disorder, while a seizure is caused by a physical condition. If you were having a seizure you would not be aware of things around you, nor would you have any control over your body. In a panic attack you are extremely aware of your body and your surroundings, and have control of your body.

A person can have a heart attack at absolutely any time. So someone could have one while having a seizure. That is not to say that a seizure can cause a heart attack as generally it wouldn't do anything like that.

just move anything they may get hurt on. do not try to move them they may hurt you.

Yes, seizure is the correct spelling. An example sentence is "Jake was rushed to the hospital after having a seizure".

A person with epilepsy having a seizure should not be restrained, but sharp or dangerous objects should be moved out of reach. Anyone having a complex partial seizure can be warned away from danger

Unless you actually see a person having a seizure, you would not know that they have epilepsy. A person who has epilepsy does not look any different to any other person or behave differently, except when they are having a seizure. So only if you are told that they have epilepsy or see them having a seizure, you would have no way of knowing.Unless you actually see a person having a seizure, you would not know that they have epilepsy. There are a few ways you can look at that question, like whether all people who have epilepsy need to be on medication or whether medication is needed when a seizure happens. Most people with epilepsy are on medication. Epilepsy comes in such a wide variety of types and severity, that there are all sorts of medications and dosages and each individual person is different, so there is not one standard approach. Some people have very mild seizures and may not be on any medication. Others could have very severe seizures and need a lot of medication. Those that are on medication for epilepsy normally take their medication a set amount of times a day, not at the time they have a seizure. Their medication is designed to control seizures, meaning it should at least reduce if not eliminate seizures. Once a seizure starts, there is nothing that can be done to stop it. However, some seizures are extremely mild, lasting just seconds, with only the person that has had it knowing that something has happened, so there is no need for any assistance. Giving someone medication during a seizure is not going to stop it and in many cases it would be difficult to get someone to take medication when they are having a seizure anyway. Only in the most extreme cases, would medical intervention be needed, like if someone was going from one seizure into another for a long period of time, like for 20 minutes or half an hour. Then it would be advisable to call an ambulance. That is something that is very rare. For the majority of people, they will have a seizure and recover soon afterwards, and if you called an ambulance immediately the seizure started, they might be fine or at least well on the way to recovery by the time it arrives, so there would be no need for the ambulance. People seeing someone having a seizure and not knowing what it is tend to panic and call an ambulance, but usually it is not needed. People do get brought to hospital in those cases, just because an ambulance has come and on a precautionary basis, but are usually discharged very soon afterwards, as they have recovered by then. A seizure may only last for a few minutes, so usually there is no medical assistance needed and it is not of any help to the person as they would recover themselves anyway. There is normally no need to give them medication after a seizure either. The person will just follow their normal pattern of when they take their medication. So if someone is having a seizure, all you can do is be there for them, make sure they are OK and comfortable. That is more than sufficient treatment for the vast majority of seizures.

It is not good to have any kind of seizure. The only thing that can be said is that having a petit mal seizure is better than having a grand mal seizure.

Not unless you can prove: -that a work condition caused or exacerbated a seizure condition, -that a stressful work environment exacerbated an existing seizure condition, -that a required duty caused you to be in a place where you sustained a head injury which caused the seizure, or -that your employer required you to be at work despite their knowledge of an unusually high risk of seizure activity (you had run out of medication, for example).

You cannot really stop a seizure from happening. People can take their medication and try to avoid the things that cause their seizures, which are different for different people. Once a seizure starts, there is nothing that can be done to stop it. You just have to let it run its course and make sure the person that is having the seizure is ok, and doesn't do themselves any unnecessary injury if they fall or bump into something. You also need to be there for them as they come out of the seizure, as they will not be too well for a while, maybe having a headache or feeling a bit disorientated. They will be ok soon though.

Having a control in an experiment allows you to see what happens when no variables are changed. If you do not have a control, you do not have anything to compare your results with after changing variables of the experiment.
