You can certainly be taken into custody if you are intoxicated however (in the US) minors are not sentenced to "jail" but they could be sentenced to serve some time in a juvenile detention facility.

∙ 10y agoIn many cases, yes a minor can be arrested for underage drinking or even "Minor in Possession (MIP)." It depends on the jurisdiction and the laws of that jurisdiction.
Keep in mind that arrest and jail have very specific purposes. Not only do they protect the public at large, they also protect the person in custody (ostensibly). When minors are arrested, they are often processed through the main jail, but immediately transfered to juvenile detention.
