You need to check to fuse box.
To locate the dash lights fuse on a 1999 Honda Accord to find out if it is causing the dash lights do not work when you have the parking lights on after installing an after-market radio, check the owner's manual. You can also find a fuse diagram at most auto part stores.
blown fuse blown fuse
turn the knob on the left side of the steering wheel on the dash. It will brighten the dash, and radio lights by turning it to the right and it will dim the lights by turning it to the left.
dude....you dont want to do that...unless you want your dash lights not to work...
if someone put an aftermarket radio in it and didnt know what they were doing it will short out all the lights
Not programmed? Constant HOT feed not supplied? Defective radio? Option not available on that radio?
dash lights radio info center lights do not work all the time. change the fuse but that did not solved the problem
Should be separate circuits for the dash lights and the radio. Look for loose/corroded connections on both power and ground wires. I would also check the dash light dimmer control switch. Verify you have power and ground at the radio. When the dash lights go out, verify power at the dash light fuse. It is going to take some detective work to locate the source of the problem.
The dash lights and lights to the gear shift panel are grounded through the radio, be sure that the radio plug and ground to radio are connected. If you have taken out the radio you may try grounding the plug wire that connects to the radio lights.
Check the fuses.
AnswerAn aftermarket radio installation could be the culprit. If you have an aftermarket/custom radio installed in your vehicle, check the wiring harness to make sure no unused or loose wires are exposed in any way. In my case, I had an unused wire coming out of the harness hanging loose. It didn't look too threatening but as it turns out, it was the "dimmer" wire (connected directly to the dash lights, which also happen to be on the same circuit as the tail lights). A problem such as this can cause shorts in your electrical system which is why fuses don't last more than a second.
The best way to fix a radio and odometer display that doesn't work is to check the fuses. When you replace the bad fuse then the lights should work in your dash.
