u may have a defective multifunction switch
First check your fuses if none are blown then check the switch.
Check to see if parking lights are working - usually same fuse or could be light switch itself if all fuses are good
Check to see if the parking/tailights are working Could be a bad fuse, or switch Could be an open in the dimmer rheostat
are you sure the lower brake lights your talking about aren't tail lights. That's my guess. Check in the fuse box for a fuse labeled dash, illumination, parking or something to that effect.
SOUNDS LIKE A BLOWN FUSE DOES YOUR TAIL LIGHTS STILL WORK? 99.9 % THE TAIL LIGHTS ARE ON THE SAME CIRCUT AS THE matker LIGHTS -TAIL LIGHTS
If all of them stopped working at once, it could be a fuse. Find the Fuse box and test the one that connects to your dash. if the fuse is bad, replace it.
My dashboard needles and half the lights of my dashboard quit working MONTHS ago and I'm too nervous to go see how much it will cost me. I have the same car, 2001 L-300 and I have had SO MANY problems with it, that this is one I'm learning to live with until I find the time to get it looked at. If you do find out what it could be, I'm curious to know as well!DRL (daytime running lights) - its likely the relay, & dashboard issue's commonly caused by lost ground distribution. This is not absolute.
1- the light switch, or 2- the wiring on the plug to the light switch from the car, or 3- a blown fuse
what the headlight lights mean on the dash
If the Ford Galaxy dashboard lights don't work, there could be a problem with the fuses. There is also a possibility that a bulb is burned out or there is a short in the wiring.

look for a break in the wiring. it might be grounded on something
