There are several physical effects that can produce electricity; it really depends in what form the energy is available. But one method that is used quite often to produce electricity in industry is converting movement energy to electricity with a generator.
One difference is that the solar cell has no moving parts, while the mirror method (concentrated solar) has moving parts in its turbines.Photoelectric Voltaic Cell (PV)When the sun shines on a solar cell it knocks electrons loose from the atoms in the silicon cell. These electrons are captured in the form of an electric current, that is, electricity.Concentrated Solar CollectionMirrors and lenses focus the sun's heat onto a container of water, or salt. This extremely hot material is then used to spin electricity generators to produce electricity.
The most common method is by rubbing two different substances together.
Hydroelectricity is a method of producing electricity from flowing water. A large area of water - typically held behind a dam - is forced (by it's own weight) through a turbine generator, which makes the generator spin. When the generator spins, magnets attached to the turbine portion move past magnets mounted on the generator walls just outside the turbine. This produces electrical current, which is harnessed as electricity.

A turbine is rotated by steam, this is most commonly used in the process of producing electricity through the method of a coal fired power station.

You describe the resultant computed using the graphical method by connecting the vectors head to tail. The difference from the tail of the first one to the head of the last one is the resultant vector. To determine resultant vector with the component method you use the formula x(squared) + y(squared) = R (squared).
