Acid rain causes damage that can ultimately have a negative affect on the economy. If food sources are affected, people have to spend more money for quality, organic foods. The result can also be a low food supply, which will also raise prices based on supply and demand. Outdoor furniture, gutter systems for homes, and automobiles all suffer corrosion from acid rain. People have to cut back on luxuries when they have to spend a large sum of money to replace an automobile or the gutters on the house. Illness causes medical bills. hen people are sick, they don't go to work. When people don't work, the economy suffers. Acid rain has a lot of negative affects on the economy.

∙ 14y agoAcid rain has caused tremendous damage to certain types of trees in the southern Appalachian Mountains. It has all but wiped out Frazier Furs. It has killed many fish. It is especially deadly to fish in any area that does not have a lot of limestone. (Acid rain dissolves limestone and is neutralized in the process.) Marble facing on buildings is dissolved. Any place using limestone as a building material is in danger of seeing it turn to mush.
