if its heated high it becomes denatured, this means you cannot get it back to its original form.

once you cook an egg(which is protein) it goes from A clear liquid into a ediable food item, however you cannot get the egg back to the clear liquid because it has been denatured.

What does it mean when the enzyme becomes denatured?

An enzyme is a folded protein. When this folded protein becomes denatured, it essentially stops working. It can not function due to high temperatures or wrong pH.

When globular protein has its hydrogen bonds broken it becomes?

Denatured

What is likely to happen to a protein molecule that is exposed to intense heat or radiation?

A protein may become denatured when exposed to intense heat or radiation. When a protein becomes denatured, its basic structure is damaged enough that it is no longer able to function.

What is protein denatured by?

A denatured protein has had its structure dismantled or altered, rendering it disfunctional or nonfunctional, and therefore useless.

When a protein loses its three-dimensional structure and becomes nonfunctional it is considered to be what?

When a protein loses its three-dimensional structure it's considered denatured.

1 denatured

If a protein had its hydrogen bonds broken would it function properly?

No it would not function properly. If a protein has it's hydrogen bonds broken it becomes denatured.

Is boiling an egg an example of chemical change?

protein of the egg is mainly albumin. It is denatured by heating boiling and it becomes solid

A protein can become denatured when?

A protein can become denatured when a number of things happen. Some of them are the loss of solubility by the protein as well as cooking proteins will cause them to be denatured among others.

Does cooking food causes chemical changes?
