Germany didn't take over London in World War II, or else Britain and France's government in exile wouldn't be able to keep Germany out of Western Europe. Although the Germans bombed London with their Luftwaffe (German air force), Londoners hid in the Underground (the subway in London). There weren't many casualties and Britain's morale wasn't destroyed. Hitler gave up on trying to take London, and he turned his armies over to invade the Soviet Union.

∙ 11y agoGermany did plan an invasion (operation sea lion), but after loosing what is now called the battle of Britain where the Germans tried to destroy the RAF, and gain air supremacy that plan was cancelled and Germany never launched any mentionable land assault on Britain, and there were also no naval battles worth mentioning here as the British kept a strong grasp on naval supremacy.
