Each excelled in different areas. Abraham was the greatest spiritual pioneer of all time: he grew up amidst universal idolatry and singlehandedly raised up a family and disciples who served the One God. The Torah (Genesis ch.15, ch.17) describes how God recognized Abraham's righteousness, but that did not happen until Abraham had been serving God for several decades.
Moses was the greatest of all prophets (Numbers ch.12, Deuteronomy ch.34), including even Abraham.
The Bible says that Noah was a distant ancestor to Abraham, but lived until Abraham was 60 years old, although Abraham seems unaware of Noah's existence or even of God having saved him in the Flood (One online site even estimates that Abraham was born 165 years before Noah died). From a biblical perspective, Noah was therefore born long before Abraham but was also alive through much of Abraham's lifetime.
From a historical perspective, both Noah and Abraham are considered by scholars to be mythical and therefore neither Noah nor Abraham really lived.
Noah was born in 2948BC and died in 1998BC at the age of 950, while Abraham was born in 1996BC and died in 1821BC at the age of 175, so they were contemporaneous for 2 years. [All dates Ussher]
Noah died 1998 BC and Abraham was born two years later in 1996 BC.
Noah died ~2 years before Abram son of Terah was born.
I have no reason to disbelieve the Bible. I have every reason to be skeptical of man's thinking and speculations.
When the two disagree, I am siding with God's Word the Bible.
Abraham was born first. You read about Abraham in the first chapters of Genesis, and Moses doesn't appear on the scene until the book of Exodus, which is the second book of the Old Testament.
Yes. Moses was about 1500 years before Christ.
Yes. Moses live 1500 years before Christ.
No Moses came first.
Moses
Noah is not considered a Hebrew. All of mankind following the flood is descended from Noah. Noah was 10 generations before Abraham who was the father of Judaism.
No, they are not. They are all prophets of God. Adam was the first one.
After. The story of Noah and the Flood in Genesis comes before the story of Abraham and the descent into Egypt. According to tradition, Abraham was born 292 years after the Flood.
Yes he died first, as he is mentioned in the bible, before Abraham and Lot.
Wel,l Noah was old just because he was old. He wasn't purposely made that way. We all age. God probably picked Noah to build the Ark because he was old and wise. Remember, old people aren't as boring as you think. Listen to their stories.
There were righteous people before that too: Adam, Methusaleh, Noah, Shem and Eber were all before Abraham and were very righteous.
A:The Bible says that Noah was a distant ancestor to Abraham, but lived until Abraham was 60 years old, although Abraham seems unaware of Noah's existence or even of God having saved him in the Flood. From a biblical perspective, Noah and Abraham's were therefore related. From a historical perspective, both Noah and Abraham are considered by scholars to be mythical and therefore Noah and Abraham are only related in biblical tradition.
A:The Book of Genesis says that Noah was born some 890 years before Abraham was born. He lived another 350 years after the Flood, therefore living until Abraham was some 60 years old, yet he played no further part in the biblical story. He did not use his personal acquaintance with God to argue against the rise of new religions, and Abraham was not aware that he had a living ancestor who could have provided testimony for his God. Neither Abraham nor any other national leader kept in touch with Noah nor sought his advice on any matter. It is as if he ceased to exist once he had fulfilled his biblical role of surviving the Flood.
