Rudolf Virchow apparently received no help in 1858 for his opinions on cell theory. Some of his opinions, however, were based upon research by Theodor Schwann.

Which theory is supported most by the finding that the moon is similar in composition to the outer portions of Earth?

The "giant impact" theory. The most popular current theory of the Moon's formation is that during the early times of our solar system very shortly after its formation, another planet perhaps as large as Mars collided with the proto-Earth. The cores of the two planets merged (resulting in the unusually massive iron core of the Earth) and the debris blasted into space by the collision partly fell back to Earth and partly formed the Moon.

What is the plate techtonic theory?

The plate tectonic theory states that new Earth crust is being formed while old crust descends back into the mantle. Uneven heating in the mantle causes convection which keeps the crust in motion. The constant movement of Earth's plates are the result of the three types of boundaries, divergent, convergent, and transform, and the convection in the mantle.

Could artificial snow be used to replinish our melting polar ice caps?

I had a similar idea with recycled plastic used to make large sheets to extend the polar ice caps back to what they were 30 years ago. I'm with you. Reflects the sun the same. Returns the climate to 30 years ago. Should even make it snow, in theory & bring back the natural snow where it should be. I think it is about the science of light reflection's effect on climate. Artificial polar ice caps.

Who discovered cancer cells?

Some descriptions of cancer go back to ancient Egypt as far back as 1600 BC and the understanding of cancer was significantly advanced during the Renaissance period. However, Sir Rudolf Virchow, a German biologist and politician, is generally credited with discovering the first cancer cells. As Giovanni Morgagni had linked autopsy findings seen with the unaided eye with the clinical course of illness, so Virchow correlated the microscopic pathology.

Back then, Robert Hooke found cells from a cork and named it cells. Later on, Matthias Schleiden found cells from plant parts and concluded that all plants are made of cells. Theodor Schwann, after observing many different animal cells, concluded that all animal have cells. Several years later, Rudolf Virchow hypothesized that cells divide to form new cells.
