Saint Teresa originally was in the convent of the Incarnation. She received permission to found a more strict convent, so she left and founded the Convent of St. Joseph. Later, her original convent, the Convent of the Incarnation elected her superior and she had to return there as their prioress.
On Nov. 2, 1535, she entered the Carmelite Monastery of the Incarnation at Avila.
