The Corvette's debut was in January 1953 at the GM Motorama at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York City. The first two production Corvettes were completed on June 30, 1953 in Flint, Michigan. 300 Corvettes were built that year. All 1953 models were white with red interiors.
The first Corvette was made in 1953, There were no Corvettes for sale to the public in 1983 there were however some made for test purposes but GM destroyed most of them after testing. There is ONE 1983 Corvette in the Museum in Bowling Green KY. They are currently making Corvettes so run out and put your order in at your Chevy dealer. Dave
The 4.3L V6 GM engine does not have a timing belt it has a chain, and it does not directly drive the distributor.

The GM Safari was produced from the years 1985 to 2005. The vacuum switches for the AC vents on a 1995 GM Safari all-wheel-drive van are located underneath the dashboard.

The 4L60E (NOTE SPELLING) trans is a very common front drive GM transmission and is in 80% of automatic front drive GM cars from 2002 The rest have 4L80E
The CR plugs are commercial grade and have a thicker electrode and ground. It's also a slightly hotter plug than the R. Basically a heavy duty plug used much in GM small block TBI trucks and other GM vehicles. I think they used them in some Corvettes as well.
