Hurricanes do not form in Virginia. They form at sea and sometimes strike Virginia. Typical times range from August to September. The last hurricane to make landfall in Virginia was Hurricane Isabel in 2003. The last hurricane to affect Virginia was Hurricane Sandy in 2012.
