They might have believed but the people who retell their beliefs in a wrong way made you think that. The world does not end in at least a million centuries.

Why did the medieval church believe the earth was flat?

The Church did not have a teaching that the Earth was flat. There may have been a few people in the Church who believed that, but the prevailing view was that the Earth was spherical. The most respected source on astronomy in the Middle Ages was Ptolemy, and his Geometry contained arguments that the Earth was spherical and showed its size. Ptolemy did believe that the Earth was the center of the skies and the sun went around it; his argument was that if the sun was at the center, the Earth would have to spin at a thousand miles per hour, and the winds would knock everything down.

Major religions in Japan?

Shinto and Buddhism are the major religions in Japan. Most Japanese people do not define themselves as following only one or the other, but tend to incorporate elements of both in their spiritual life, so it would be very difficult to say which is the one major religion.

Do all religions have a devil?

A big portion of Christian religions would believe in the devil. There are over 40,000 different types of Christianity, because to be a Christian, you simply have to believe in Jesus. But that point apparently varies greatly. Some believe Jesus and God as the same. Others don't. Some believe of Jesus as just a great man, while others believe he is now a heavenly king. But besides all these things, most these dominations would as well believe in Satan the Devil, but again in different ways. Some think he rules a place called Hell. Others believe he lives on Earth taking as many as he can away from God. When it comes to what religions DON'T believe in the devil, that would be a lot of pagan religions, or religions that don't believe in the one creator, but rather different Gods, such as Buddha for example. Atheist as well would most likely not believe in the devil. It all really varies according to ones beliefs.

How is the religion of India similar to other well known religions?

Although India's religion has been described as polytheistic, most Hindus believe in one main god. So it is like the monotheistic religions of the world. The emphasis on scripture study also makes it similar to Western religions. Holy men are believe to incarnate on earth to help people trapped in the material world so it is similar to religions with prophets and messiahs. The Hindu pantheon has some of the original Aryan gods who are similar to classical Western gods. For example Zeus would be Indra, Aphrodite would be Lakshmi, Athena would be Sarasvati, Eros would be Kama--there are probably more--

Are there any hinjews?

I don't think so. Jews and Hindus have very different religions. It would be difficult to believe in both religions.

Is oneness theology wrong?

Hello, I think it is wrong. Listen, this is just my personal opinion, but think by yourself: How would you feel if your lover, who you trust, would cheat on you with other lover? I think it would not be very great. I believe in one religion, but I have read about the other religions very much and I can say that all religions are similar. I mean, we believe in God, we believe that there is someone who will save us after we will die, who will bring us better life, success and so on. This is my personal opinion.

Why would you want to learn about other religions?

Why wouldn't you want to learn about other religions? Learning about other religions is learning about how other people view the world around them. To think that your views about the world on your surrounding is the RIGHT way or the only True way is just ignorant. Just because your elders have taught you a certain truth as it pertains to them doesn't mean that is a truth to what others believe.
