No. The Coca-Cola Company is about $157 billion in market capitalization; PepsiCo is about $100 billion. It would be difficult for either one to buy out the other. Also, it is unlikely that the US Justice Department would approve of such a merger, on antitrust grounds.

No, they are still rivals and the "big two" of US carbonated beverages. PepsiCo and Coca-Cola did assume much of the bottling of Dr. Pepper, though Coca-cola maintains the Mr. Pibb brand in some markets.
