No. While the religions of North and South Korea are quite different, this is more a result of the separation of the two states and the incredibly repressive statist religion of Juche, which is the only legal religion in North Korea. The cause of the Korean War was actually the political ideologies of Communism and Republicanism which were imposed on the Koreans by the Soviet and American Occupiers after World War II.

NO. The division between North and South Korea is political, based on the Cold War divide between Communism, centered in North Korea and formerly supported by the Soviet Union, and Capitalist Dictatorship, centered in South Korea and supported by the United States. Because of the State Religion of Juche in North Korea and the growth of Evangelical Christianity in South Korea, there is increasingly becoming a religious division in the Korean peninsula, but this is an end-result of the division, not its cause.

North Korea invaded South Korea. Exactly, the Korean war started by North Korean army's attack to the 38th parallel (a line of latitude used to divide the Korean Peninsula) at about 4AM on June 25, 1950. However, North Korean propaganda claims that South Korea attacked first. (No country outside of North Korea agrees with this view.)
