How slavery would affect the economy
It was not as accepted in the north, and was not as important in the economy, as for the south, without slavery there economy would fail.

slavery was not critical to the sucess of the economy in the north
because he wanted to abolish slavery and the souths economy depended on slavery for field work while the north had factories to fuel their economy
The North, with its factories and large cities, had less use for slave labor. Economic differences between the North and South, and the South's insistence on maintaining slavery, eventually led to war.~Emily
a necessary evil
Slavery was not economical in the north. Due to more extreme winters, the agricultural seasons were shortened, and the north was not so dependent on crops as income. Slavery was not as embedded as a major part of the economy.
the role it played in the economy
The north had an economy based on Manufacturing this made northerners oppose slavery because slaves could have taken their jobs
the north had little or no need for slavery because of there geography. agriculture did not revolve around slavery. this not saying that slaves could not be used but in this society they are not as excepted in the north as in the south. without slavery, the south's economy would be drastically different. the north already had ajusted to no slavery. people like to stay with status quo.
Slavery was more important to the South than it was to the North, because the South's economy relied on agriculture.
