Yes the Normans did win The Battle of Hastings because of Harold Godwinson's mistakes for example he lost most of his men because he fought in a battle against Hardrada just before he heard that the Normans had landed in Dover and he only had about a quarter of his men left. Does that answer the question??!!

They certainly were.

Duke William of Normandy said the throne of England belonged to him so he crossed the Channel with his men and their horses to get it back from King Harold II who said it had also been promised to him.

After a battle near Hastings which the Normans won Duke William set off for London to be crowned King William of England.
