John Lennon had just moved into Tittenhurst Park with Yoko Ono. Paul McCartney had a house on Cavendish Avenue in London, but spent the winter at his farm in Argyllshire in Scotland, with Linda, Heather and baby Mary. George Harrison was moving into Friar Park in Henley-on-Thames, from Kinfauns in Esher. Ringo Starr sold the lease to his Montagu Square apartment, and was still living at Sunny Heights in Weybridge.

At the beginning of the group's formation, the group certainly worked well together. It can be seen through their press conferences, recorded jam sessions, etc. that they very much seemed to enjoy each others company. The group often shared a fantastic sense of humour and fun. John Lennon and Paul McCartney's relationship was a deep and intense friendship with the sarcastic sense of humour of the group and musicality creating a wonderful group dynamic.

However, as the group's fame increased it would seem as though the ability to enjoy themselves was constricted. John Lennon seemed to resent the attention, and The Beatles often produced short-winded, matter-of-fact exchanges with the press, making use of glimpses of light humour or defensive, media assessing statements. The "well you read into it what you want" defence becoming stereotypically Lennon.

Ever since McCartney was encouraged to release his solo composition of "Yesterday", the famous Lennon-McCartney collaborations became musical contests between the two unofficial "band leaders", causing some of the greatest musical compositions of their careers. Unfortunately, what worked for the Beatles creatively and musically, divided the group.

The increasing success of Lennon-McCartney seemed to overshadow George Harrison's growing complexity as a musician. He felt that creatively, he hadn't been afforded as much control or respect by McCartney and Lennon that he could have been. Although he was allowed to compose some songs on his own, his talent had risen to a point where the Beatles were no longer his best avenue.

Ringo Starr felt a similar inferiority, due to his introverted personality and lack of 'voice' as a musician. He composed only two songs in his time with The Beatles, one a collaboration with Harrison (Octopus' Garden), the other, "Don't Pass Me By" was left off Beatles records for almost a decade before appearing in later years.

The polarized band and its members' introverted personalities saw McCartney emerge as an unofficial leader after the departure of their long-time manager. Lennon claimed he was sick of being "Paul's back-up band". The band member's musical styles began developing in differing directions to the rest of the group. After such a long time together, although mostly amicable relationships, creative, business and personal situations caused the group to diverge.

After the break up The Beatles still recorded with each other but not as a whole group. "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" became the last song they recorded together.

Although the group certainly worked well musically and shared a marvellous friendship, evident by the amount of time they spent together recording, pressures of fame, work and clashing creative minds, caused inevitable problems within the group.

They had a very close relation , from their Liverpool days. And they only broke up , as Paul McCarthy wanted to spend more time with his family.

They started going separate ways in 1968 and split up in 1970 (legally they split in 1973). There was some resentment towards Paul because of their business problems (ironically, Paul turned out to have had the better ideas at the time) but all of them reconciled before John's death. George restored his friendship with Paul some years before he died; as he said, Paul was one of the very few people in the world who looked at him and didn't see "Beatle" George.
