∙ 9y agoAbsolutely not. This is a myth spread by people who are eager to blame the Jews for every evil in society. But there is no credible evidence to support the myth that Jews financed or profited from the slave trade. Rather, the biggest percentage of slave-owners and traders were Christians; some Muslims were also active participants. That said, it is true that there was a small percentage of Jews involved in the slave trade, but they were by no means a major factor in supporting or advancing it. It is also true that the vast majority of Jews neither owned slaves nor provided material support for slavery...NOT!

It is well documented that the Middle Passage slave trade was dominated by Jews, regardless of country. The traders were Jews. The shipowners were Jews. And the largest slaveholders in the New World were in fact Jews, in Brazil. Slavery was/is a Jewish enterprise. Read the Talmud, it does not prohibit slavery as long as the slaves are Gentiles.
