no the band did not survive only rose one of the girls did
Yes the band actually played when the Titanic sank and all of the band went down with it.
Yes, they kept playing on the Titanic while the ship sank so the people won't panic.
play music!
The band continued to play their music even though the boat was sinking
The Titanic was out at the cinema in 1997.
It's not entirely clear what the final song actually was. Most of the survivors reported hearing the band play "Nearer my God to Thee," a hymn which would have certainly been appropriate for the final moments of a sinking ship. Yet, at the time, the hymn was played to several different melodies. The British would have recognized the "Horbury" melody as "Nearer my God to Thee," while the Americans would have recognized the "Bethany" melody, and yet both British and American survivors reported hearing "Nearer My God to Thee" as the final song. Titanic's junior wireless operateor Harold Bride told the New York Times, while aboard the rescue ship Carpathia soon after the catastrophe, that the final song was "Autumn," likely referencing the popular waltz at the time "Songe d'Automne."

I don't think anyone was singing - there was however a band playing: The Band was asked to play some music to keep the passengers calm and they did. Theu played up until the very end and not one of them serviced the disaster.
The captain wanted the band to play as long as possible to help calm the crew and passengers so that there would be less panic.
The play was written and first performed around 1945 / 1946. The action of the play takes place in 1912 and has references to things which were then in the future but which the 1945 audience knew had happened - World War I and the sinking of the Titanic.

All musicians perished in the disaster, playing until the very end. However, what their final number was is still speculation but it appears that it was "Nearer My God, To Thee", a hymn chosen by bandleader Wallace Hartley for his own funeral.
