The great thing about them is that they were cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The Southwest weather is not a very harsh one compared to other areas and the Pueblo dwellings were located high on a mountain. Not only did they have protection from others, but the way they were built kept them dry and cool. It can get extremely hot in the Southwestern desert.
