Unicorns exist in present world. But there is no way of knowing what creatures might evolve in the future.
CYC: I believe that they already exist. But our curiosity is keeping them hidden away.
yes. i have one as a pet. his name is fredrick. my grandma gave him to me for my birthday two years ago.
Unicorns per-se as horses with horns did not exist. However, the possibility of a one-horned hooved animal having once existed and inspired the myth, perhaps in the Pleistocene Epoch cannot be ruled out.
It depends what you define as a unicorn. We know for a fact now that "unicorns" were actually one-horned rhinos used as war rhinos, which were mistaken for horses.
The first idea of unicorns probably came from cave paintings dating back to 15,000BC, which depicted horned animals. The discoverers initially thought the animals in the cave paintings had one horn, due to the small drawings and weathering to them over the years. But it has in fact since been shown that the animals in the paintings had two horns and are likely to be paintings of antelopes, whose bones were also found in the caves.
The oryx (a kind of antelope) can, in profile, appear to have only one horn. It's possible that brief glimpses of these animals in silhouette, or drawings of them by people who realized they had two horns, but didn't have the sophistication of perspective required to accurately depict that fact, may have helped inspire the unicorn legend.
Unicorns were also mentioned in Ancient Greek literature by Ctesias, who gave them the name "Unicorn", but it has since been found that he was actually describing an Indian Rhinoceros, also known as the one-horned rhinoceros.
This was further confirmed when Genghis Khan wrote that he called off the invasion of India due to witnessing 'terrible and brutal one-horned beasts ridden by man', which today we understand were War Rhinos, similar to War Elephants.
Unicorns in the sense of horses with a single horn, did not exist, no.
However one-horned rhinos, which were mistaken for unicorns, do exist.
Not as they are depicted in fantasy. However, some believe legends of unicorns may have been inspired by a now-extinct type of rhinoceros called elasmotherium. Others think stories may have been inspired by Narwhals.
While I would say that unicorns have never existed, this is purely a matter of opinion.
yes no maybe so
yes, but now they are extenct:(

Unicorns do not exist.
Since there is no proof that unicorns exist, there is no phobia of unicorns. If unicorns did exist there closest relative would be the horse. The phobia of horses is Equinophobia.
Unicorns and Pegasus are mythical creatures, they do not actually exist. Although we have no proof that they are real, there is no factual evidence they are not real. Being said, Unicorns may exist somewhere and we may never know it. It is extremely unlikely you will ever encounter a Unicorn or Pegasus.
