Passive satellites: Satellites which reflect the incident electromagnetic radiation without any modification or amplification. Passive satellites can't generate power they simply reflect the incident power. Active satellites: Satellites which can transmit power are called active satellite. They can amplify or modify the incident signal for transmission.

Difference bitween active and passive satellite?

In passive satellite system the ground transmitting system power at the reflector. The receiving ground system received a function of the power that has been intercepted by the reflector. In active satellite received the function of the energy band toward it by the ground transmitter system and the received power is active amplitude by active electronic means.

Basic Difference between Active and passive Satellite System?

An active satellite acts as a REPEATER; it amplifies signals received and then retransmits them back to earth. This increases signal strength at the receiving terminal to a higher level than would be available from a passive satellite. A passive satellite only reflects received radio signals back to earth. fr0m: ZIA UR REHMAN D-05-ES-29 DCET Karachi Pakistan.

When are active and passive transport and their types used?

Active transport uses energy in the form of ATP. Active can force electrons against the electron gradient as in the electron transport chain. Passive transport does not use energy and an example of passive transpost is osmosis.
