The main difference between American farmers and their counterparts in India is the use of technology. The land worked by Indian farmers is smaller, poorly irrigated and requires the use of hard manual labor to work the fields. They are likely to be illiterate and not knowledgeable about methods that would make their work easier and more productive. American farmers, on the other hand, use proper irrigation techniques and machines that replace manual labor. They are far more educated and have learned how to make use of modern farming methods.
