Plant cells have well-defined cell walls, whereas animal cells only have thin membranes, no walls. It's the thick cell walls that allow plant tissue to become rigid when the cell is filled with fluid. This is why plants wilt when they are not watered, and perk up when they are. Animal cells would simply leak out excess fluid!

The animal fiber like wool and silk are made up of proteins, Plant fibers like cotton, jute, flax etc are made up of cellulose.
