there are naturaly occurring radioactive substances, radon rocks underground break down or decay releasing radon gas, this is radioactive but not enough to damage. this makes up part of the worlds natural background radiation as well as other isotopes of different elements, if you don't know, an isotope is a variation of an element with a different ammount of neutrons, for example pottasium's most abundant form is k39 this means that pottasium has 39 protons and neutrons. potassium 39 actually has 19 protons, so there are 20 neutrons in potassium, the isotope potasium 40 has 21 neutrons and is radioactive, it is also found in bananas so bananas are radioactive, to a small degree. artificial radiation is anything that is made by humans, like nuclear reactors.

What are the differences between natural radioactivity nd artificial radioactivity?

Natural Radioactivity arises from radioactive components contained in nature. Artificial Radioactivity will come through element produced with in nuclear reactors as well as accelerators. Natural Radioactivity is a spontaneous process of disintegration. Artificial Radioactivity is carried in synthetically produced radioactive elements used in nuclear reactors.
