Why is a univeristy degree called a bachelor's degree?

because candidates for this degree in the 14th century were likened to candidates for knighthood who were also called bachelors or bachelers by the late 13th century there is some difference of opinion tho as to exactly why the first bachelers were called by this name or how it came to be it could have come from the word baculum which is the stick they used for practicing sword fighting or it could have come from the word baccalaris meaning vassal & or baccalaria meaning the plot of land the vassal worked & several other origins have been suggested too but bachelors as candidates for marriage came a bit later than bachelors as candidates for degrees

What education or training do you need to become a performance artist?

If you want to make it in a professional theatre it is important to study different techniques of acting from various directors/teachers. This can be done by going to a variety of different colleges etc. A bachelers degree in performance is important and a masters degree does look good on a resume. But more important than any degree is experience. Very little theatre schooling consists of bookwork. It's also important to do a variety of things, not just acting. Get a full perspective of your art.

What Pre-med colleges are in North Carolina?

Pre-med can be taken in any of the accredited college what you have to look for is the medical schools because that's what actually matters. Go according to your schedule of classes as per your respective major and you should take biology as major and chemistry as a minor for the bachelers degree which would help you for the MCAT as well as for the medical school. If you have further questions about the MCAT exam, schedule of classes or anything like that let me know I'll be glad to help you with what I know and just to let you know I have pre-med right now so I am sure it would be good knowing you further Dave

How many credits does it take to earn a bachelers degree?

A bachelor's degree in most areas can require between 120 to 128 college credits particular to a specific program of study. This would be based on a college or university that operates on a regular two semester academic year which is the most common. For institutions that operate on a tri-semester or quarter-semester it would be quite different. That being said, the Bachelor's degree - in most cases - is designed as a four year program of study, provided the student is full-time and follows their chosen program of study as prescribed by the college or university, and also provided the individual does not require prerequisite or developmental coursework as a result of basic skills testing. The minimum credit load for a full-time student is no less than 12 credits per semester. However, to complete the degree within the four years, a credit load of approximately 15 to 18 credits is recommended. For individuals who work or who have other responsibilities that would prohibit them from attending full-time, completion of the degree may take twice as long. Still, some of this time can be cut down by attending summer sessions and/or interim sessions. In addition, the bachelors and associate degrees are referred to as undergraduate degrees while the masters and doctorate degrees referred to as graduate degrees.

Do I need an associate's degree and a bachelers degree before my MBA in management degree?

I strongly suspect not. An Associate's degree is about one half a Bachelor's degree, and graduate degree programs virtually always require a Bachelor's level degree prior to admission. A possible exception might be an MBA program that is willing to include life experience that is arguably equivalent to the BA. This may be worth exploring, but it's possible there are no such programs.
