It depends if you want to be a small or large animal vet. Both have similar pros and cons but a few are different. The pros of being a vet (in general): you love helping animals and being around them, healing the sick ones and seeing the happiness that brings is a big pro. You can make decent money depending on where you practice. Small animal vets usually work inside where the climate is controlled. Cons: you can get emergency calls that can last into the night, you have to make tough decisions about euthanasia, telling people bad news about their pets, people don't always pay their bills. Large animal vets usually have to go to their patients & it can be cold, wet, or steamy hot.

There is a lot of education to become a vet and vet school is not easy. In spite of all that, the reward of knowing you were a part of seeing a happy ending for an animal and the people that love it is priceless.

Some animals can be dangerous, and like any health care profession it can mean working nights and weekends.

Pros is that you get to play with the gorillas,sharks,and tigers yey :)

Cons is that you get pay 5 dollars hourly and tigers might scratch you
