There is a growing number of teachers, parents, and students that advocate the abolishment, or at least a limit to the amount, of homework. The main reason is the belief that students also learn from activities in life other than textbooks and workbooks found in classrooms. A whole day in class and most of the night reading school books that are related to the subject in school leaves a student out of touch, without free time, and unable to get exercise or pursue extracurricular activities. Talents and interest of the student often cannot be nurtured in a classroom setting with teachers focused only on a specific subject.
Moreover, there is a considerable body of research supporting the idea that homework is of little educational value, and that for young children (i.e. under 14) it actually has a negative effect on learning.
Studies comparing countries found that children from those countries giving less homework out performed children from those countries giving piles of homework for their children.
it wastes your time and there is no evidence that homework is benefitial to you and it gives lots of stress
Pros for Homework;
Reality proves different. Homework is a great teaching and training tool. It teaches students to take responsibility and to manage their time, among other things. The bad thing about homework is that some students view it as a waste of time or an unnecessary burden. Those who do not do their homework or do it haphazardly rob themselves of an important past of their education.,
Homework is a great burden for students . Its good to give homework but nowadays teachers give homework more heavy than a school bag . Students cannot manage their times . They spend their time on doing homework only .
Some students wake up late night to finish their homework . If it goes on like this then students donot get time for their revision .
At last ,my opinion is that give homework but give less homework so that students can manage their time properly.
The Pros:
*You are more prepared for school
*You learn more
Cons:
*Having TOO MUCH homework can cause headaches (like me)
* If you have homework over the weekends you won't be able to spend time with friends and family
*And last but not least...
IT IS BORING!
Honestly, i would keep my homework because i have time to practice and it helps a lot for tests.
Homework is by no means bad for students. Most of the knowledge and skills you'll need in life, you aquire by yourself. It is important that you start early by studying on your own, solving questions and gradually find your way to learn without the help of others.
The disadvantages are that you don't learn simple spelling and grammar and end up looking dumb when you ask a question that looks like this!
