it depends. my old Australian shepherd didn't shed that much, but the one i have now sheds a lot. that doesn't matter compared to how loyal, caring, and sweet they are.
Well, they don't have a specific name, but Japanese Bobtails, American Bobtails, and Manx all don't have tails.
For some breeds yes. For example, an Australian Cattle Dog is usually seen with a long tail, but there is the Australian Stumpy tail Cattle Dog, which (in my opinion) seems pretty if not exactly similar. Other dog breeds have docked tails. Some breeders/breeds have been bred to have shorter tails.
Some dog breeds that have naturally stubby tails include the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Jack Russell Terrier, and the French Bulldog. However, some breeds such as the Australian Shepherd or the Boxer may also have their tails docked for various reasons.
There is always the possibility of genetic mutations in the animal kingdom, which would make it possible that there have been raccoons without stripes on their tails. However, all raccoons should have striped tails.
There are a few dogs born with naturally bob tails, such as the australian shepherd, old english sheepdog, schipperke, australian cattle dog and I'm sure there are a few more. This isnt saying that every puppy in the litter will be born with a bob, but these breeds do come fully docked or with a bob quit often.

Shepards
Good: Good with kids, you do not have to groom them much and they are easy to train. Bad: They have special exercise needs.
Yes, Australian shepherds swim like fish. My 3 year old female swims with my family and to retrieve. She also swims to herd flocks of aquatic birds. In the heat of summer she will frequently jump in for a quick dip to cool off.
It depends on the species. Some Australian possums, such as the various species of gliders, have semi-prehensile tails, and their tails are used to help them balance. Others, such as the Ringtail and Common Brushtail possum, are considered to have more prehensile tails, using their tail to grasp cables and branches.

Well in my opinion I think they are both great dogs but if you have little kids I would recommend a golden, they are great with kids so are Australian shepards but you need lots of space for them to run
