GTRV at http://www.gtrv.com/ has a pop-top for Chevy Astro vans. They cost about $8-9000.00 installed. Tiger-Provan located in the U.S. who still makes a Chevy Astro with a pop-top roof and does a complete camper conversion. You can often find used Tiger Pro-Vans on craigslist.org and eBay. I have seen a "homemade" Chevy astro pop-top conversion that a couple of guys in Boulder, CO made by installing a used Volkswagon pop-top onto a Chevy astro. Have no idea how this worked out as to leakage etc.

1990-2005 Chevy Astro weighs 3897lbs The previous post above is from Adeyfk. I own a 1990 Chevy Astro AWD Van. AWD Vans weigh more. I called the Chevy Dealership and gave them my vin # and was told the gross weight was very close to 6,000 lbs. and one other web site said the same. Not all vans weigh the same. Some of the older models had extended back ends and/or heavier AWD frames.
I believe they are 5 on 5.5... No...that is incorrect. Ford uses the 5x5.5" "Bolt Pattern" on their 1/2 ton trucks/vans etc. The Bolt Pattern for Chevy Astro and GMC Safari Vans are 5x5". Which is the same as GM Full-Size 1/2 ton 4x2 trucks/vans and some full size (RWD) passenger cars.
