Until six months ago, I would have said yes, but now I know that exercise is not necessary to lose weight.

I lost 25 pounds in 8 weeks and 35 pounds overall so far, without any exercise at all.

All I have done is to reduce my sugar (Fructose) consumption, and monitor my daily calorie intake.

This was recommended by my doctor as a healthy option for me as exercise was difficult for me.

I can honestly say this method is awesome, and does not require exercise to be effective.

Kind of, but it's not advisable. At some point you will need to eat and drink to maintain your energy and muscle mass. But, if you would like to lose weight I can recommend a dieting prgram for you. If you would like more information on this, check my blog: http://lose-weight-miraculously.blogspot.co.uk/

No. Mark Twain once said that his only exercise was acting as a pallbearer for his frends who exercised. But he died at 64.

The fact is, that getting out of bed is exercise. If you work then gyms are silly.

Well, everyone has a diet. If you don't, that means you're not eating at all. But if you mean can you lose weight by only adding exercise and not changing your dietary habits, then yes, you can. To lose weight, you must burn more calories than you consume. If previously, you were not gaining weight, and you increase your calories burned through exercise and don't change your diet to compensate, then you will lose weight. Often, people will add exercise when they didn't previously, but still not lose weight because without noticing, they have also begun to eat more because they feel hungrier due to the exercise. By monitoring both your caloric intake and your exercise, by holding the intake constant while increasing exercise, you will lose weight.

Assuming your eating is spot on to start with, 3,500 calories burned equals 1 lb of body weight lost. So if you can exercise hard enough to burn 500 cal/hour, then you'll lose 1 lb of body weight if you can exercise one hour daily every day of the week.

But maybe your eating isn't spot on. Maybe you're overeating with 500 cal/day. That's only about one cupcake's worth of calories. Then one hour daily will only stop your weight gain, not cause you to lose anything. All serious attempts at weight loss has to start with controlling your diet.

Exercise in itself does not burn fat. The body only burns fat when it has run out of glycogen as fuel. Glycogen is known as muscle sugar or liver sugar. It is derived from eating various kinds of carbohydrates. Exercise is a rather inefficient method to lose weight. The best way is to limit your carbohydrates.

You should study macronutrients a bit before you go on a nutritional plan (diet).

You don't, but it will be harder to lose weight if you don't exercise. Weight loss is just a matter of expending more calories than you take in. It's easy to see how exercise helps you out in that area.

Our bodies are very efficient at burning calories, and it takes excessive exercise to lose weight.

If you want to lose weight, lower the amount of calories you consume.

No. You lose fat from consuming less calories than you burn. Exercise increases the amount of calories you burn which makes it easier to lose fat.
