Earth and Neptune both spin anti-clockwise when viewed from above the Solar System. However, Uranus appears to spin clockwise, because its axis is tipped over by more than 90 degrees (98, in fact.) This is probably because a large object, perhaps a planet the size of Earth, knocked into it early in its history and tipped it over in its orbit.

No. Venus has a slow clockwise (east-to-west) spin. All of the other planets except Uranus have similar counter-clockwise spins, and their axes are generally perpendicular to the plane of their orbits.

Uranus still has its spin, but is knocked over onto its side, its poles nearly along its orbital plane. Because its original North Pole is now pointing slightly downward (as its South Pole), it appears to be spinning clockwise.

Yes, Uranus and Earth rotate around the sun in the same direction, and rotate around their own axis in the same direction, although the angle of Uranus tilt is larger than the Earth's

What are the directions of the orbits of the moon and earth?

Viewed from a vantage point above the north poles of both the Sun and the Earth, the Earth orbits in a counterclockwise direction about the Sun. Similarly the Moon orbits the Earth in a counterclockwise direction. From the same vantage point, the Earth, Moon and Sun also rotate on their axes of spin in a counterclockwise direction.

Does the moon rotate right or left?

The moon rotates in the same direction as the earth, counterclockwise (anticlockwise) when viewed from above the north pole. One rotation of the moon takes the same time as one revolution around the earth, so the same side of the moon is always facing the earth.

Why does the moon not rotate as does the earth?

The moon does rotate on its axis as the earth does. The earth rotates once in a day and the moon rotates once in a month ( for those who want to quibble, it's a little more than 27 days ). ADD---the moon rotate at the same speed of the earth, that why we always see the same side of the moon which give the impresion that the moon doesnt rotate but it does!

What direction does Callisto rotate on its axis?

same as earth

How does it take for the to rotate on its axis?

The moon has an axis, and as the moon orbits the Earth, it keeps the same face toward the earth. So the moon rotates on its axis the same length of time it takes to rotate the earth -28 days.

How long is the period of revolution for earth's moon?

The moon doens't rotate (from earth's perspetive). We always see the same side of the moon.

Why is it that you can see the moon during daytime?

The moon takes about 28 days to rotate around the earth. And it takes 24 hours for the earth to rotate in the spot. At some point the moon is at the same side of the earth as the sun. and when the earth is facing the sun it is daytime. so when the moon is at the same side of the earth as the sun you can see it at daytime.

What side of the moon do you see from earth?

You always see the same side - as the moon takes the same time to orbit the earth as it does to rotate once on its axis !

Does the Earth spin on its axis in the same or opposite direction as the moons orbit?

The direction of the Earth's spin and the direction of the Moon's orbit is the same - counterclockwise

Why does the moon rotate every 13.8 degrees east?

The Moon doesn't rotate. It does orbit the Earth, while the Earth orbits the Sun, but the same side of the moon is shown to the Earth at all times. Where did you get the figure 13.8 degrees east?

Does moon circle the earth in the same direction as the earth rotates?

Yes it does.

IS the moon facing west or east when it is a full moon?

The Moon has no east-west direction with respect to Earth. East-west describes the direction of, or opposite direction of a sphere that is rotating. (Like Earth.) As it turns out, the same side of the Moon always faces the Earth. The phases of the Moon, like full Moon, result from which direction the SUN is from the Moon and Earth.
