Does Lexapro get you high

I have been taking Lexapro for about a year and it does not make me high at all. The first we I took it, I felt a little overly happy but that's it. If you want to increase your dosage, I was told to go up a half a pill each week but stop at 2 pills at the most. (first week: half a pill, second week: one pill, third week: one and a half pills, fourth week:two pills) Taking an extra pill than you are suppossed to does not make you high, it can make you throw up and lose your appetite.

I'm sure the answer is yes, but why would you want to? I'm not one against drugs, I smoke weed everyday, and love searching for new highs through other types of pills, but anti-depressants, in my opinion, aren't the best ways to get high. I know of someone, who took upwards of 45 lexapros, a type of anti-depressant, and was sick and bed-ridden for almost 2 weeks afterwards. If you take a few anti-depressants when you are drinking, you will feel "good", idk if that's the "high" you are looking for. I think, if i were you, I'd suggest sticking to Xanies, Oxycodone(percocet), the vics, and good ol marijuana to get the highs you are desiring.

By itself Citalopram only calms anxiety and treats depression.

Be cautious if you are using other drugs though. Smoking marijuana while on Citalopram often causes the individual to "trip", much like if one took acid. This can be a jarring experience for someone only looking to get high.

Also, individuals taking Citalopram should be very careful when drinking, as alcohol tolerance goes way down while on this sort of antidepressant.

Not exactly, but sometimes they can cause what is called "breakthrough mania" instead of just reducing or eliminating depression when taken by bipolars. Sometimes this is the only way a person finally gets a bipolar diagnosis, as many are not seen by doctors when they are manic otherwise.
