you can, it's hard. theres alot of bad that comes with it. but I eat under 1000 cals a day...then I eat a large meal (wine, beer, french fries, burger) and throw it up. sometimes I eat around 500 cals a day, then throw up a 500 cal meal. if I eat anymore than that and puke I maintain, but if I stay in the bracket I lose, slowy. over the past two month I've lost about 12 pounds. I was anorexic before I started this, and if you can it's much easier and faster just eating 500 cals a day...which is what I try to do, but then I binge and feel bad. please just take care of yourself. I have heart problems and all kinds of sh*t.

You can lose weight around your belly, but when it comes to your belly, youll look about 4 months pregnant. My sisters friend has this and that is how she looks. Shes not pregnant. I know because she has no boyfriend, period, and is 11.

Bulimia is not a way to lose weight, it is a mental disorder that ruins your life, destroys your body, and most of the time, results in weight gain. Most bulimics are average weight if not over weight. It is not a way to lose weight.

Anorexic. Bulimics tend to be of normal weight because they have already absorbed most of the fat/protein/nutrients from the food before purging.

Bulimics differ from anorexia in that bulimics binge and purge?

NoSome anorexics do binge and purge, but only tiny amounts and more consistently than bulimics. There are two main differences between anorexics and bulimics -Anorexics lose a significant amount of weight, and usually have an extremely low and unhealthy BMI. This disorder is characterised by excessive weight loss and a fear of putting on weight and getting fat. They are proud of their diets and how controlled they are regarding food.Bulimics on the other hand are not necessarily skinny; some are quite overweight, and others are in the normal weight range. They are ashamed by their purging activities and feel like their eating is uncontrollable. Both are equally dangerous disorders causing serious medical and psychological problems, and need to be treated by a physician or psychologist or psychiatrist

Why are anorexics obsessed with food?

Which is more common bulimia or anorexia?

Most of the time bulimia starts with anorexia, but then maybe they go to somewhere with a lot of food and they lose control and binge. To get rid of the calories they purge an then this becomes an addiction. Bulimia is much more common than anorexia because not all bulimics have anorexia, but most anorexics have bulimic tendencies.

Can anorexia nervosa be differentiated with bulimia nervosa by weight or pattern of handling of food?

Bulimics tend to eat anything and everything as fast as they can and drink down a lot of soda because the bubbles help it come up easier and bulimics tend to weigh more because during their binges they take in about 20,000 calories and when you expell that from your system you're only bringing up half of the calories. Anorexics on the other hand will cut up their food into itty bitty little pieces and sit and rearrange it on their plate to make it look like they have eaten something. Anorexics weigh much less than bulimics because they only take in about 400 calories a day at the most.

Can recovering anorexics and bulimics join Weight Watchers?

Yes, very carefully. If you are recovered, and have your doctor's ok, then you can join. If you are in recovery, then no, you should not join. Will WW check on you? No, of course not - how would they know if you have an eating disorder? As for people who say that WW is only for obese and fat people, they've never been a part of WW. I joined to lose 10-15 pounds, and I did that plus some more. I'm now down to a size 2 and am on what WW calls "Maintenance" where I stabilize my weight where I am. I'm a recovered bulimic, and it's been over 9 years since I've been recovered. For people who believe that anorexics and bulimics can't be overweight, that's also untrue. Anyone, regardless of weight, can develop an eating disorder. Anyone that has had an ED will tell you it's not about weight, or food, or even losing weight - it's about control, emotions, and comfort. That's one of the reasons that a lot of us also cut, or self-mutilate, or do other self-destructive behavior. Only join if you're certain you are healthy enough to be... healthy. Otherwise, wait.

If not eating doesn't necessarily cause weight loss fast how come anorexics are so skinny?

Anorexics control their body weight by voluntarily going through starvation, vomiting, purging and excessive exercise. Also controlled by diuretic pills. More info on this on the weblink below:

If your body fat is already low is it harder to lose weight?

if your body fat is already low losing more weight is dangerous and can be deadly. your body needs fat. you need to gain weight not lose weight. remember muscle weights more than fat so if you must lose more weight be a little more lazier and lose muscle tone but in my opipion that is dumb

Can trying to gain weight lead to anorexia?

I don't think do. Trying to gain weight means you are eating more calories. Anorexics are characterized by limiting their calorie intake, along with exercising to burn off more calories so that they DON'T gain weight.
