But cats' eyes are different in many ways, one of them being that their tear ducts continually release moisture without blinking. It stands to reason that cats developed this trait over time in order to be better hunters and evade predators. In the wild, that split second blink could be the difference between eating and starving as prey run out of sight, or living and dying when running from a predator.
